Overview

warframe excaliburIf you love Melee combat and the warframe Excalibur, this is the build for you. It focuses on optimizing Radial Blind to take advantage of the 4x melee damage multiplier on blinded enemies (as it temporarily takes them out of the alerted state). Not only will you be a beast in close combat, but you will provide a great crowd control to your team and yourself. This build leaves two slots, one polarized by default to V; and 13 points left over for customization and forma options.

  • Steel Charge – Increases your mod points and melee damage.
  • Stretch– Increases the range of Radial Blind.
  • Overextended – Further increases the range of Radial Blind.
  • Flow – Increases Energy pool.
  • Streamline – Decreases the cost of casting Radial Blind.
  • Fleeting Expertise – Further decreases the cost of casting Radial Blind.
  • Vitality – increases survivability for when you can’t blind.

Optional Mods

If the Warframe is forma’ed, optional mods allow for a wider mod selection and different preferences.

  • Radiant Finish Augment – switch this in and take out Overextended for a more offensive build.
  • Power Strength Mods – Compliment Radiant finish and boost the increase to finisher damage.
  • Duration Mods – All work with this build, except Narrow Minded. Increases blind time and decreases drain of Exalted Blade
  • Vigor/Redirection – Adds additional survivability.
  • Primed Flow – Increases energy pool over the non-primed variant.

Ability Breakdown

ability_icons_excalibur_slash_dash_1 Slash Dash: Costs 6.35 energy per use. Not useful for damage, but does provide damage immunity while active. dashes to and attacks enemies in a cone 28.2m in length. 40 damage per hit before melee mods.
ability_icons_excalibur_radial_blind_1 Radial Blind: Costs 12.5 energy, blinds for 6 seconds, and it’s range is 58.8 in game meters. Enjoy 4x melee damage multiplier.
ability_icons_excalibur_radial_javelin_1 Radial Javelin: 25 energy cost. Huge 58.8m radius. Very little damage. 400 damage divided between the three physical damage type.
ability_icons_exalted_blade Exalted Blade: Costs 6.25 energy to activate, costs 1.56 energy per second to channel. Waves travel 40m. Deals 100 damage per normal attack, 100 for wave hit, 400 for wall attack, 214 for a spin attack and 200 on slam attack. Wave damage is also added to every attack of Slash Dash while active. All damage is evenly divided between Impact, Puncture and Slash

Pros

  • Great crowd control.
  • 4x melee damage against unalerted enemies.
  • Great survivability, Exalted blade works great as a panic button.

Cons

  • Mobility is slightly limited. Slash dash does give a bit of mobility, but the more enemies in the cone, the longer it’ll take to reach the end.
